Select Portfolio Servicing - Good Experience with SPS
Back in 2011 I was facing foreclosure. SPS was sold my loan years prior, so they were the ones who started the foreclosure process against me. I went online and read nothing but horror stories about how they do not work with anyone, they treat the property owners horribly, etc....
I thought I would try to get a loan mod, and the worst that would happen is I would lose my house (which was inevitable anyhow). To my surprise, I have had nothing but a great experience with them. I've never had a rude service rep on the phone, and we negotiated a 5.25% fixed rate (not the best, but a lot better than what I had prior). Here I am five years later, and still in my house, making lower payments than what I had been making prior to the foreclosure.
There are a lot of bad experiences with SPS, so I will attribute my great experience with them to the prayer that went on prior to my contacting them, and the hand of the LORD over our phone conversations.
My advice to anyone facing a similar situation is this: Reach out to them. At worst, you'll get nowhere (which is where you already are). At best, you'll get your house back.
Reason of review: Good customer service.

Unfortunately for most, they lose their homes, God or no God.
My sister who is a devout Christian is losing her home and has terrible contacts with SPS. She has pleaded, begged, asked, and even gotten an attorney and nothing has happened but more nonsense from SPS.
They even send back her payments; money that was not late, but they said that they couldn't accept the payments. Why? Because they want to foreclose on the house. They are even trying to get her property that is not even on the loan and is next to the home but is financed through a private seller.
She lost her husband recently and SPS told her she wasn't on the title any longer!
ANY LONGER?! How does that happen.
So, if you have such a good relationship with God you might want to send her a prayer.
Thank you.
