Select Portfolio Servicing - Very poorly run company
Company bought my second from HSBC in April 2017. Previously, I had been on a every two week plan with HSBC withdrawing from my account.
Because of several life issues, I never really checked to see if SPS was properly withdrawing from my account. Just assuming that they were.
Recently, I became able to pay off this note and attempted to do so.
Step 1 was to send them a $40K check to just go against my balance, as specified in the web site, of a little over $41K. Two weeks go by and I find that they returned my check to the bank with no notice to me.
After a long conversation they explained they don't take large amounts via check. So I went into their payment system and sent them 4 payments of $40K. Took forever, but balance then showed to be about $1700.
Requested payoff and got an amount of of the above balance plus a months interest on the balance.
So I went into the system and paid the amount. That payment was never added to my account but instead went off to some form of "holding" account.
The web site never showed this payment. In fact the web site shows very little useful information.
After talking with an agent, I think I have sent them enough money to clear this account, but have no idea that has happened. Their agents are nice, but are not allowed to do anything nor really give good information.
I just am amazed that they never bugged me about my non-payment for nearly a year. Then I am amazed how hard it has been to pay them off.
So glad that I am almost finished with the company.

I agree! They made me behind in my payments with their misinformation!!
Now want me to sign a 7k check and JUST send it back as if they ate gonna do the same! Before I send it back I need 50%!!!
